Artful Impact 2024

Early projections from Governor Roy Coopers office suggest that 126,000 North Carolina homes were damaged by Hurricane Helene. In response, the Community Housing Coalition (CHC) of Madison County is working hard to provide shelter and repair services, but requires the communitys help to keep pace. One way you can support the nonprofit this holiday season is by purchasing art during Artful Impact 2024 at Mars Landing Galleries. According to gallery owner Miryam Rojas, 20 percent of all fine art sales during the event will benefit CHC. I firmly believe that a person’s homeplace affects their sense of self and, ultimately, their well-being,” says Rojas. Given all of Helene’s destruction in our mountain communities, there are few greater needs right now than those CHC tackles to keep residents living safely in their homes, especially as we enter into winter.” Featured artists range from photographer Michael Filonow to ceramic sculptor Nina Kawar. A public reception with a live jazz performance is slated for Friday, December 6. We are deeply grateful to Mars Landing Galleries for their generous support during this challenging time,” Chris Watson, executive director of CHC, shares in a press statement. This partnership is a beacon of hope for our community as we work together towards recovery.”
