Accomplished local abstract painter Cindy Walton will celebrate her birthday month, April, by paying it forward to local nonprofit Our VOICE, whose stated mission is to “inspire hope and healing while ending sexual violence and human trafficking through education, counseling, and advocacy.” Using “an intersectional, person-centered approach,” Our VOICE provides a 24-hour crisis advocacy line (828-255-7576), the medical services of forensic nurses, and individual and group counseling for people 13 and over who have experienced the trauma of sexual violence. Walton will take 10 percent off a select group of her paintings in April and donate ten percent off all her sales in April to Our VOICE.
