Since The Village Potters Clay Center will be unable to host their annual Multi-Kiln Opening Celebration in person, they’ll present virtual kiln openings, including Raku, Kazegama, Reduction kilns and Oxidation kilns. Online demonstrations include “Throwing Big,” “Throwing Off the Hump,” and “Surface Design Techniques.” The Center’s virtual gallery will feature new work by six resident potters, and the staff will also host a pickup for locally purchased pots from their Vessels of Hope, Chapter 2 Fundraiser. The Village Potters is located in the River Arts District, owned by potter Sarah Wells Rolland and including in-house makers Lori Therault, Judi Harwood, Julia Mann, Christine Henry, and Melanie Robertson.
